Blizard pass invisible ink pen1/2/2024 ![]() Because sometimes, you fall asleep watching a mediocre rental, and would rather return it on time than pay two more bucks just to see the end.Because sometimes, your TiVo timer didn’t get it quite right, and cut off the crucial final minutes of something that won’t get shown again for six months.Because sometimes, you’re not interested in seeing that movie everyone’s talking about but are dying to know what the hubbub is about anyway.Because sometimes, you vaguely remember an old movie that had some sort of plot twist at the end of it, but can’t remember what it was.Because sometimes, the surprise “spoiler” ending is the only reason you’d pay $11 to see what is otherwise a turkey of a film. The police Sergeant comes over and tells Paul that he can join the real police whenever he wants to. She kisses him in return, and they hold hands. Paul finds Amy and hands over a birthday card he bought from the mall’s Hallmark store during the heist. The rest of the police arrive immediately after and arrest all the criminals. Kent aims a gun at Paul, but Kent’s arm is shot by the Mall Security leader who, up until right this moment, never carried a gun. He laughs and says that’s okay because he has all the other criminals in custody and so has all the codes, so apparently the rest of the SWAT team is in on it too or else he wouldn’t be able to get the codes. ![]() Paul arrests Veck, only to be held up by Commander Kent, who out of nowhere is now involved in the heist.Ĭommander Kent demands the phone, but Paul smashes it. Newborn arch back1/2/2024 ![]() ![]() It’s a somewhat common occurrence for babies who are less than 3 months old and particularly in bottle fed babies (although there is still no proven cause).Īrching their backs is just one of a few different reactions newborns can have along with clenched fists and drawing their legs up to their tummy and of course prolonged tummy. When to call a doctor: You generally would not need to seek medical help if frustration is the reason for your baby arching back.Įvery parent will have heard about what colic is and how it can make babies feel. How to help at home: Comfort and console, while trying to figure out what might be frustrating your little one so you can meet their need. However, as most of us can’t yet read our baby’s mind (wouldn’t that be nice!), we shouldn’t feel too bad as it’s common for babies to get frustrated. They are really trying to communicate but can’t get the message across and they struggle to deal with that frustration properly which results in an over the top reaction such as arching back and crying.īabies arching their back is probably not their first sign of frustration, it’s likely that they’ve been frustrated for a while but their needs have not been met. Perhaps your baby is uncomfortable and wants something such as food, sleep, a change of nappy or just a change of scenery. One of the most common reasons a baby may arch their back is because of frustration. However, when they are expressing odd behaviour or they seem in distress then that’s when we begin to worry. Our babies can not communicate with us, so when they display a positive sign it’s fabulous and reassuring. When it comes to smiles, coos and giggles we absolutely love it. If in doubt, call your GP or visit your local health service.Īs parents to young babies, and especially as first time parents, we often find ourselves overanalysing every sound and action our baby makes. Read on to find out more about this behaviour, what you can do about it, and whether or not you should seek a professional medical opinion or not.īefore you begin reading this article on baby arching back please remember that this should not be used as medical advice and you should always do what you feel is best with advice of medical professionals. You may be wondering what’s going on and why it’s happening. T heir back (or more specifically spine) is in a strange and often uncomfortable looking way. If you can’t dim the lights, shade your baby’s eyes with your hand.If you’re a parent, chances are you’ve seen your baby arching their back. If none of these work, put him in his bed in a quiet place with dim lights. Sometimes doing these things may be too much for your baby. Put a rolled blanket or diaper near his feet so he can press against it.Swaddle means you wrap your baby in a thin blanket so that it covers most of his body below the neck. Swaddle him snugly, but not too tight.Place your hand lightly on his tummy or chest, or let him hold your finger. This is when you gently hold your baby’s head and her tummy, bottom or feet. Here are some things you can do when your baby needs a break: ![]() He arches his back, makes a fist or pushes his hand out like he’s telling you to stop.He won’t make eye contact, and he turns his head away. He squirms, startles or twitches more than usual. When he does this with his fingers, it’s called splaying. He stretches out his arms and spreads his fingers wide apart. He feels stiff like he’s tense or limp like he’s really tired. These cues show that your baby needs to take a break: What cues tell you that your baby needs a break from activity? Talk to her, read her a story or sing a song to her. Here are some ways to interact with your baby when she’s ready: Her eyes are open wide, and they try to follow a moving face or object. She moves smoothly (not jumpy or startled). She puts her hand on her ear, the side of her face or near her mouth. She grabs at someone’s finger or an object. She brings her hands or feet together, or she stays in a softly tucked position with her arms and legs tucked up into the middle of her body. These cues show that your baby is ready to interact: What cues tell you that your baby wants to interact? Prey macos1/2/2024 ![]() That is what make me feel like prey I don’t want an iToy for my daily work I want changes only if they make my work more efficient. Now maybe Apple will get things right in the move forward, but also Apple has already proven that (in Lion) that they will be sloppy and will alter the user interface in ways that degrade usability in all sorts of small ways, and thus add tedium to what have been simple tasks. But that is just a detail, the real issue is the design failure to realize that the conceptually clean Duplicate command (shortcut or not) forces a Duplicate-Save-navigate-rename workflow that is more error prone and time consuming than the near-instant save-as-Enter (cmd-shift-S, Enter) workflow. ![]() Along with the fact that two “Duplicate” commands make it impossible to add a shortcut that works. I don't think that will happen, but as evidence that too little thought is given to the matter, consider the lack of a command-key shortcut for Duplicate in Apple’s Pages progam. What if the end user relies on time-proven features that are simply better for getting work done, features that don’t fit the new iOS religion? I could see command key shortcuts being eliminated, because. One problem is that “making things as they should be” presumes that the target market are teenagers that like Shiny Objects (I like them too, since the iPhone is the most useful phone I have yet used, but I can't get useful work done on my iPhone or iPad, it is just too tediously slow to accomplish basic tasks). Apple has finally moved to address that issue, but the damage was done, forcing many in the video area to start considering alternatives. ![]() Huge investments in training and hardware were thus devalued. Final Cut Pro users know this painfully well, when Apple moved to a “better” product that had no way of opening existing projects. which should make anyone nervous who actually uses their Mac for productive work. Now Apple is surging strongly in the iOS direction. See the in-depth discussion at on 'Mountain Lion'. In my view, 90% of the changes in Lion are useless eye candy (good for marketing), but create their own sticky problems: they degrade the user’s ability to get productive work done. I wrote about the iOS-ificiation of Mac OS X on Feb 6, and how Apple thinks that that a Mac is an iPad or iPhone: It is only a tiny fraction of our users, and most of them run Ubuntu.- SEND FEEDBACK Related: Apple, Apple iOS, Apple iPhone and iPad, Apple macOS, iOS, video We only provide official Linux support for Ubuntu systems. ![]() ![]() Have a look online or in person for the 2023 sales in case we get more hot discounts. UK shops in particular get some excellent Black Friday Lego deals Aldi sliced a whopping 60% off the Millennium Falcon a little while back. Supermarkets are also a great place to go deals-hunting, and some of their offers are better than anything else you'll see. Seeing as it features some exclusive items you won't find anywhere else, bearing it in mind this November is a must. We've seen some fairly generous discounts across its range before, and a very healthy 20% was knocked off many sets in Black Fridays past. As an example, it's worth watching out for the official Lego site too. While the usual suspects like Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy are sure to go all in on Black Friday Lego deals this year (as per usual), there are plenty of alternatives worth considering as well. Where will the best Black Friday Lego deals be? We've seen that happen over and over again in years gone by, so 2023 shouldn't be any different. In a nutshell, that is what Black Friday means for Lego fans - the chance to save record amounts on sets that rarely get a reduction. In fact, some of the year's best prices are found during this November sales extravaganza. While Black Friday is better known for its tech discounts, you can get some really cracking offers on Lego during the event. ![]() What does Black Friday mean for Lego fans? That means you've got a pretty big window in which to nab a bargain. Instead, discounts should begin much earlier (potentially from the start of November) and continue into the following week, at which point they become Cyber Monday reductions. However, even though the best Black Friday Lego deals will be reserved for that 24-hour period, the savings won't be limited to that one day. The year's biggest sales event always takes place after Thanksgiving and on the final Friday of November, so we can expect 2023's offers to occur on November 24. Duck billed platypus cartoon1/1/2024 ![]() ![]() The species also feeds on free-swimming organisms: shrimps, swimming beetles, water bugs and tadpoles, and at times worms, freshwater pea mussels and snails. It then chews the food using its horny, grinding plates, while it floats and rests on the water surface.ĭiet of the Platypus consists mainly of the benthic invertebrates, particularly the insect larvae. The Platypus stays underwater for between 30-140 seconds, collecting the invertebrates from the river bottom and storing them in its cheek-pouches. The precise way in which the Platypus uses the bill to detect prey is still unknown, but the bill serves to find and sift small prey from the substrate, while larger prey is taken individually. The animal closes its eyes, ears and nostrils when foraging underwater and its primary sense organ is the bill, equipped with receptors sensitive to pressure, and with electro-receptors. The average foraging periods last for 10-12 hours per day, and the distances the animals move during this time vary between individuals and their distribution. The Platypus feeds mainly during the night on a wide variety of aquatic invertebrates. The activity patterns of these animals are determined by a number of factors including: locality, human activity, ambient temperatures, day length and food availability. During day, individuals shelter in a short burrow in bank. Platypuses are active all year round, but mostly during twilight and in the night. ![]() Within its current distribution, the occurrence of the Platypus is reasonably continuous in some, but discontinuous in other catchments. There is no evidence that the animal occurred naturally in Western Australia, despite several unsuccessful attempts to introduce it there. Nowadays it is extinct from that state, except for the introduced population on the western end of Kangaroo Island. The species was once found in the Adelaide Hills and Mount Lofty Ranges of South Australia. The western limits of the range are poorly known. It is present in eastern Queensland and New South Wales, eastern, central and southwestern Victoria and throughout Tasmania. Platypus is endemic to Australia and is dependent on rivers, streams and bodies of freshwater. The presence of logs, twigs, and roots, as well as cobbled or gravel water substrate result in increased microinvertebrate fauna (a main food source), and the Platypus also tends to be more abundant in areas with pool-riffle sequences. Hence, the ideal habitat for the species includes a river or a stream with earth banks and native vegetation that provides shading of the stream and cover near the bank. At times, the individuals use rocky crevices and stream debris as shelters, or they burrow under the roots of vegetation near the stream. When not foraging, the Platypus spends most of the time in its burrow in the bank of the river, creek or a pond. They feed in both slow-moving and rapid (riffle) parts of streams, but show preference to coarser bottom substrates, particularly cobbles and gravel. Platypuses occur in freshwater systems from tropical rainforest lowlands and plateaus of far northern Queensland to cold, high altitudes of Tasmania and the Australian Alps. In addition, males possess a horny spur on their ankles, which is connected to a venom gland in the upper leg, making the Platypus one of the few venomous mammals. The Platypus uses its tail for storage of fat reserves and the strong claws on its feet for burrowing and moving on land. Behind its distinctive bill are the grooves that house the ear openings and the eyes which close when the animal dives. The Platypus propels itself through the water by using its front, short, webbed limbs, and the partially-webbed hind feet act as rudders. Its streamline body and a broad, flat tail are covered with dense waterproof fur, which provides excellent thermal insulation. Platypus is well adapted for semi-aquatic lifestyle. When first discovered, the unusual look of a Platypus caused considerable confusion and doubt amongst European naturalists and scientists, many of whom believed that the animal was a fake. Along with echidnas, Platypuses are grouped in a separate order of mammals known as monotremes, which are distinguished from all other mammals because they lay eggs. ![]() The Platypus is a unique Australian species. ![]()

Alta redshift for sale used1/1/2024 ![]() ![]() While there are definitely improvements with the new bike, the 2018 model is by no means outdated. The 2019 model was just revealed to press and reviews are trickling out, like this one from. But to me, Alta’s bigger advantage is in the components, which include WP suspension, Brembo brakes, Metzeler tires, and even Cycra hand guards. Part of that is due to the incredible motor, which produces 50 horsepower and 147 (!) pound-feet of torque at the front sprocket, though the latter number is cut to 42 pound-feet at the tire with some gear reduction. The 2018 Redshift MXR is priced at $11,995, and customers now have the option of purchasing a new Rapid Charger for $799 or the Standard Charger for $499.The FXS is a great bike, but Alta’s Redshift truly feels like the next generation – as long as you have a priority on performance over range. When coupled with Alta’s revolutionary adjustable throttle mapping systems, the MXR delivers an unmatched capability to our riders.” “The 2018 MXR’s increased performance, better control, and lower mass all add up to more fun on the track or trail. “We’ve updated and enhanced well over 20% of the parts on the Redshift, demonstrating Alta’s commitment to leading the development of electric motorcycles and producing the best motorcycle in the world,” said Derek Dorresteyn, Chief Technical Officer. WP suspension front and rear adds quality and helps to reduce weight from the 2018 Redhshift MXR. Alta says that the new pegs not only improve grip but also provide increased comfort via an adjusted riding angle, lower mass and better performance in the mud. Other changes to the 2018 Redshift MXR include redesigned foot pegs with a more aggressive tooth profile. Grass trimmer electric1/1/2024 ![]() ![]() It comes with a generous three year warranty.Īwarded a BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine Best Buy for ease of use, the Gtech grass trimmer GT50 is a well-designed tool. However, it doesn’t come with a strap for additional support and becomes tiring after use in the strimmer mode. That said, at 3.9kg it’s also the heaviest in our test, but the telescopic shaft and adjustable loop handle help to balance this strimmer and make it comfortable to hold and manoeuvre. ![]() The 33cm cutting width makes this the widest model in the test. We like the different speed settings, so you can boost power for longer grass, or reduce it to conserve the battery life if you’re just neatening up edges. The cutting head rotates to convert to an edger, and the wheels provide support and ensure a neat, consistent cut along an edge. Powered by two 20V lithium-ion batteries, it has a 20-minute run time from a one hour charge, and there’s a battery level indicator on the shaft, so you can see how much power you have while you’re using the strimmer. Light indicators on the battery let you know how much time you have left to finish the job, the telescopic shaft separates in two for easy storage and it comes with a two year warranty.Īwarded a BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine Best Buy for features, the Worx WG184E grass trimmer includes variable speed settings, an adjustable handle and shaft, an automatic feed and wheels. It copes well with large patches of long grass, as well as hard to reach areas, and cuts lawn edges cleanly. That said, after a fast 50 minute charge it runs for 20 minutes, cutting powerfully and efficiently. It’s powered by a large 2Ah 48V lithium-ion battery, which along with the charger is sold separately, making this significantly more expensive than other models in the test. However, as it doesn’t come with a support strap, it’s eventually tiring to use. The head is easy to rotate for use as an edge trimmer and the wheels help to support the weight of the body, ensuring it cuts at a consistent height. That said, it’s good value, gives a great cut, and comes with a generous three-year warranty.Īwarded a BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine Best Buy for performance, this trimmer has a generous 30cm cutting width, and the durable nylon double line automatic feed keeps working, so you don’t have to bump line out. It also requires some heft to move between the strimming and edging modes as the mechanism is stiff. The black power cable is only 10m, so you’ll need an extension cord if you plan to strim further from a power source, and it’s tricky to see it in the grass. However, gardeners with limited mobility should note that this strimmer weighs 3.1kg, which is over a kilo more than the lightest machine on test, the Gtech GT50, and it doesn’t come with a strap to help take the weight. It has an automatic feed and we love that there’s a storage compartment on the shaft for the spare spool, so it’s close-at-hand when it needs replacing. The soft-grip loop handles on its telescopic shaft are comfortable and there’s a helpful loop for tucking the cable away when you’re moving around. It’s particularly good when edging due to wheels that help take the strain, so you can achieve a precise cut. A double line trimmer, it gives a fantastic cut, and thanks to its generous 30cm cutting width, tackles the job quickly and efficiently. This corded trimmer won a BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine Best Buy award for the best budget strimmer. ![]() |
